NEW ZEALAND SKATE WARRIORS PROVE THEY ARE THE ONES TO WATCH IN 2015 AT BOWL-A-RAMA PRESENTS “SHUT UP AND CREATE” 2015

Wellington’s Waitangi Park once again host the worlds’ best PRO and MASTERS bowl skaters at the eighth annual BOWL-A-RAMA Presents “Shut Up And Create” 2015 yesterday.

 

The hugely popular weekend of skateboarding infused culture known as ‘Festival of the Skateboard’, was jammed packed of events including art exhibitions, music show. These included the Manual Magazine Presents: 2014 New Zealand Skater of the Year Awards Party, the LOVE+GUTS art show event, backstage Barbeques and the competition itself and The official afterparty.

 

BOWL-A-RAMA™ is known as the premier bowl skate series in the world and this year it is mixing up a whole new bowl contest: Shut Up And Create. It could possibly be the most fun ever had in a bowl. 

Legendary pool skaters at Pat Ngoho and Lee Ralph edged out the competition, to take out Longest Boardslide (Ngoho) and setting the new record of 27 coping Best Lee Ralph impersonations. Crowds erupted in applause during the day as local skater Shaun Baucher (Best Trick), Bowman Hansen (Best run) and Mike Bancroft (Best Local) thrashed the bowl to prove that their New Zealand skaters are the ones to watch this year.

 

"Wellington has surprises. This year was full of them; weather, spectators, sponsors and the skaters. It all came together to add another incredible event to the history of New Zealand skateboarding and another notch in the belt for BOWL-A-RAMA. Presenting "Shut Up And Create" was an honour given the support everyone showed. Thanks to Wellington City Council, GoPro, Manual, Irrom, The Cambridge, Fast Eddie's, Red Bull, the fans and the skaters. The local talent was the strongest Pro and Masters Peter Groves, Sean Ritchie, Nicholas Bennett, Rhya Henare , Nick Couscouris, Pat Ngoho, Remus Henare, Benjamin Wallis, Aaron Beadle, Matt Fenton, Ben Williams, Josh Wilson, Mike Spittlehouse, Nolan Ewart, Hunter Lauder – Smith, Steve Crump, Maximus Johnson, Maximus Johnson, Vincent Bolt, Lindsay Watson, Soul Kropelnicki, Lee Ralph, Dan Kelcher, Rico Henare, John Rutlidge, Kadin Elliott, Shaun Boucher, Jordan Nunns, Mike Bacroft, Bowman Hansen, Adam Scarf, Morph , Tim T,James McInnes, Alexander Long, Ramon Thackwell and Chris Curran as they grappled it out for the titles of Best Trick, Best Run, Best Local (NZ Rider), Longest Boardslide and Best Lee Ralph Impression.
